GOING TO BE LATE? LET THE DIRECTOR KNOW

Whether a bridge game is face-to-face or online, the director needs time to set up the game on the computer and to figure out how many boards to play. If you walk in the door (or log in) at the last minute, the director will likely have to delay the start of the game a few minutes while he or she figures out what needs to be done. Please call the Bridge Center to let the director know you are on your way if you are going to arrive at the last minute. We had a situation recently when two pairs arrived just a couple of minutes before game time, and the director had to make another set of boards because she had too many tables for only one set. It was a good problem to have as far as player participation goes, but it was certainly fraying on people’s nerves – director and players alike – until the second set of boards could be made.
