Warwickshire Pairs League Online - February 2024 Series
Warwickshire Pairs League Online - February 2024 Series
  • There will be 12 pairs in Division A and C and 10 Pairs in Division B.  At the end of this series, and if numbers remain similar for the next series:
    • 4 pairs will be demoted from A
    • 2 pairs will be promoted from B
    • 3 pairs will be demoted from B
    • 3 pairs will be promoted from C.
  • The rules for this series are here.
  • A reminder that you are no longer required to send substitutes if you cannot play.  A pair may use a single substitute (ie one of the named pair plays) twice during the series.  Any substitute used must be a WOC member and must be notified in the usual way:
    • A pair unable to play must please notify (email here) of their inability to play, and a pair:
      • sitting out and notifying the organiser before midnight the preceding Friday will score 8VPs per match
      • sitting out and notifying the organiser after midnight the preceding Friday will score 5VPs per match
      • failing to attend without notification. (see rules)
      • "Notification" - It is the players' responsibility to ensure that any emails sent to WCBA are acknowledged.
      • A 5th session sitout arranged after session 4 cannot improve the pair’s position (it can get worse).
      • A Sitout may occur - A pair will not sitout more than once per series.  Sitout (bottom of the division) will be by rotation during the session, C, B, A.  A pair required to sitout will score their average base VP score to date + 2VPs, subject to a minimum of 12VPs.
      • The organisers may field a substituted pair to avoid a sitout.  Where this occurs, the substitute pair’s score will not be applied to any pair, with the opponent’s score standing as played. A mismatch may be applied.
  • Screens will be used, so if players are using video/voice then only one opponent will be visible/audible while each board is in play.

Any questions, etc, please email here.

Enjoy!
