Lushington Cup/Plate |
Prior to 2020, these trophies, donated by John and Phyllis Lushington, were presented to the winners
and runners-up of the rubber bridge competition which was run following the Lushington Lunch usually
held in September. In 2013 the lunch was discontinued, and an eligibility condition was introduced: only
members who had played rubber bridge in the club on at least 5 occasions in the year to date could win
the Cup. No such condition applies to the Plate. Formerly, the cup and plate were awarded to the winners
and runners-up of an extended knockout competition (for which a silver tankard was awarded 1984 - 1994).
In 2023, the Cup was presented to the highest scoring pair in a duplicate competition subject to an eligibility
criterion that the average ngs ranking of the two partners shoould not exceed 9. The Plate was presented
to the leading pair in the opposite polarity.

Tatlow & White Salver |
The Tatlow & White Salver was awarded by the West Kent Bridge Club prior to 2003 to the
winners of a knock-out teams competition. From November 2009, when a Swiss Teams event
opened the club's Centenary Week, the trophy was awarded to the leading team consisting
entirely of club members in the autumn Swiss Teams event. From 2014, this was changed again.
The Salver is now contested at a "fifth Tuesday teams" held in the autumn at which team-mates
are selected by draw and non-members are both welcome and eligible for the trophy.
