There is an annual course at the club for beginners: eight sessions costing £96 run by ex England International player and teacher James Thrower. The current course will run from Monday 16th September 2024 to 4th November 2024. These lessons are at 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on a Monday Morning (room set up from 9:30 am).
You can check details by emailing James Thrower direct on "jthrowerbridge@gmail.com" or Louis.laville@roehamptonclub.co.uk and you can book via reception. We highly recommend you take the whole course and it is obviously advantageous to have lessons rather than just read a book....
Alternatively if you want other ways to learn bridge, then try reading Paul Mendelson's excellent book: The Right Way to Play Bridge.
Another way is to try the online teaching modules on the iphone App (or on your computer at home) called "Funbridge" - under the tab called "Get Started Practice" there are 11 chapters taking you through on line examples and practice deals - this is FREE and good fun. Some people also use the online modules on a website called "No Fear Bridge".
Finally most people on the bridge committee would be only too pleased to help and there are many reference books in the bridge room.
