It's a big deal, Festival of Bridge - Bridge Brunch |
A Festival of Bridge – September 2024
Bridge players come together to celebrate the game of bridge, to spread the word that bridge is a wonderful game and that by working together with our partners, Cancer Research UK we can have fun as well as playing our part in helping to beat cancer.
The goal of the EBU nationwide is to raise £60,000 for Cancer Research UK
Saturday morning Bridge Brunch was a big success. A lively session of speedy bridge was organised by Mr Speedy Bridge himself, Steve Knight. North/South winners were May Hawksworth and Gillian Malloy East/West winners were Kathy Gill and John Martin - well done all. The Claro Lounge were welcoming hosts with their usual efficient and friendly service. Table money plus the raffle raised £460 for Cancer Research UK, the EBU have now raised over £80,000 nationwide for this worthy cause.
A huge thank you to all who contributed to the success of the morning, many people were so generous with donating raffle prizes and cash, buying raffle tickets, playing on the morning and helping on the day. What a great team effort!
