Good Standard Friendly Duplicate Bridge Every Monday - 7.30pm |
|
Putney Bridge Club was an established duplicate bridge club near the River Thames in South West London. We played at Winchester House, 10 Lower Richmond Road, Putney, London SW15 1JN.
At present we have not re-opened since the Coronavirus crisis. Online bridge continues, including Monday,Wednesday and Friday evenings - see below. Our associated club, the Ruff Bridge Club in Camden NW1, meets live for club standard duplicate on Friday evenings at 7.15pm at St Pancras Community Centre, 67 Plender Street, NW1 0LB. The venue is convenient for Mornington Crescent station, one stop north of Euston on the Northern Line.. Please email if you need more details..
You can also play bridge for improvers with us at various venues in London, including Nightingale Place in Clapham. This is at 3 Nightingale Lane, SW4 9AH, immediately adjacent to Clapham South station or via G1 bus from Clapham Junction. We meet 7.00pm-9.30pm every Wednesday evening and generally play a 12-board duplicate. The bridge is 'supported', i.e. one of our experienced tutors circulates and is available to answer questions and give advice as required. This is a really and lively welcoming group of newer players, and improvers, refreshers and even beginners should find it congenial. The bar at Nightinagle Place is available to bridge players.

Five Online Games A Week |
Online Bridge Continues
Online bridge, which started when Covid restrictions were in force, continues. Players from Putney Bridge Club, and other clubs in Ned Paul's 'stable', can play in up to three Tournaments each week. These are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm. We use the bridge playing site www.bridgebase.com (known as 'BBO') to run these games. New players are always welcome in these games; table money is £4 for online games.
For full details of the online games, and results of past games, see Ned's other website www.bridgewebs.com/bridgewithned

Our Venue - Winchester House |
Winchester House is a beautiful Queen Anne riverside building, currently used by a private members club, the Winchester House Club. The venue is also used for weddings and corporate hospitality events.
We play in the first floor ‘River Room’ with views over the Thames. A licensed bar is available.
We are proud of this delightful venue and think it one of the best for duplicate bridge in London.
Please note the Club have asked the bridge players to observe a minimum dress code of ‘smart casual’. No jeans, no trainers, no T-shirts in the bar please!
