Where are we? |
We are now playing at the Garden Plaza Retirement Community. It can be found at 545 N Garden Plaza Court. From I-90, take Exit 7 to the ID-41 offramp. Go to Mullan Road and turn left (west). Shortly after you pass Walmart, look for the driveway on the left. Click here for a link to see a map. Please park in the main parking lot in front of the building, and check in at the front desk.

Interesting Hand - October 15th |
Show Detail |
On board 4 today 2 slams were available - 7C and 6NT. No E/W pairs bid a slam. East has 19 HCP but only 4 Losers, and 7 Control Points. The ACBL convention chart for opening Very Strong hands is defined as follows:
"Very Strong”: A hand that contains:
i. at least 20 HCP; or
ii. at least 14 HCP and is within one trick of game assuming suits break evenly among the other hands; or
iii. at least 5 Control Points and is within one trick of game assuming suits break evenly among the other hands.
With that in mind this hand qualifies to be opened 2C (or whatever your partnership bids to show a Very Strong hand). If East opens 2C will West be more likely to bid slam? Is that something you partnership would like to discuss?
