We have been much saddened to learn of the death of Marian Day, who was a member of the club for many years.

She represented the County on many occasions and was an integral part of several of our Wessex League-winning teams.

Congratulations to Joan Bennett, Gaynor Cooper, Diana Nettleton and Dermot Paddon, who won our October session by a huge margin, finishing almost 60 imps clear of the field over just 18 boards. Individual congratulations to Joan, who won the Michael Robinson trophy as the expert with the best cross-imp score (Diana was second), and to Gaynor who was also part of the winning team at the previous session.

Congratulations to Diana Nettleton's team, which won Claridge Cup XVII by 16 VPs after a resounding victory in the final match.

In honour of our former chairman, Michael Robinson, the club now awards the Michael Robinson Trophy to the expert with the highest cross-imp score in the Play with an Expert sessions that we hold roughly every nine months.

Congratulations to the first two winners, Chris Wilson and Joan Bennett.
