Did you know that you can practice your declarer play on BBO - just log on to BBO, select 'Practice' and then 'Bridge Master' - there are 5 levels, each with several dozen hands and even the answers if you cannot solve the problem - and it's free.

Committee Meetings

Committee Meeting 20 November 2024

Draft minutes are available to members in the Menu under News - Meetings or by clicking HERE.

Main points of the meeting were:-

A reminder that it is proposed to leave Table Money at £3.00 per session, but to increase the Annual Subs to £20.00 for 2025.

We are looking at ways of raising funds to purchase a Dealing Machine and/or Bridgemates for use at Face to Face venues.

The Club is undertaking further Training/Promotion events in 2025, including Improver Training available to all members, starting in January and then a further Fast Track course in March. We want to structure the development of new players so that they can take part in normal club duplicate sessions as soon as possible.

The Club is looking for a venue near Rainham (in Kent) for an additional F2F session.

The next Committee Meeting will be held on Wednesday 29th January 2025.

Beginners' Bridge Course

FAST TRACK BRIDGE TRAINING FOR BEGINNERS STARTING SOON!

Have you wondered if you would enjoy learning and playing bridge? Playing bridge is a great way to make new friends and keep your mind active.

Medway Towns Bridge Club is running a local, quick-start 4-day bridge course, which is approved by the English Bridge Union; and ideal for those new to the game. The training is a mix of instruction and card play, all delivered in a supportive environment.

WHAT: FAST TRACK BRIDGE COURSE

WHEN: 8th, 9th, 22nd, 23rd MARCH 2025.

A 4 DAY COURSE FROM 10.00 AM TO 4PM.

WHERE: MEDWAY VENUE (TBA)

COST: £75 FOR 4 DAYS INCLUDING REFRESHMENTS.

We are a friendly, relaxed Club and welcome members from Rainham, Gillingham, Chatham, Rochester, Strood and the surrounding areas.

Face to Face

We play Face to Face at the following Venues:-

Monday Evenings

St.Luke's Methodist Church Hall, junction of St Williams Way and City Way, Rochester ME1 2BQ

Play starts promptly at 7:30 pm. Please arrive by 7.15.

Thursday Mornings

All Saints Parish Hall, Church Green (junction with Murray Road), Frindsbury, ME2 4HE.
Play starts promptly at 10.00 am. Please arrive by 9.45.

Online

Online Sessions are on:-

Tuesday at 7.15 for a 7.30 pm start
and
Friday at 7.15 for a 7.30 pm start,

both sessions are subject to a minimum of 3 tables.

Play is via Bridge Base Online (BBO).
