FAYE BARTLETT

Faye Johns Bartlett was born in a small town in Ohio on November 25.  She is the eldest of 5 children.  Tom and Faye have 4 daughters and 7 grandchildren.  She spends time visiting and communicating with her entire family in Tennessee, Ohio, South Carolina, Arkansas, Florida, Texas and sometimes even Greece!  Her family is educated, interesting, fun and kind and everyone loves being together.  

Faye graduated from Miami University in Oxford, OH with a BA in Elementary Education.  When her kids were in school, she attended the University of Memphis where she got a Masters in Speech Pathology.  She worked at Baptist Rehab for 25 years working with stroke, swallowing, and head injury patients. She is proud of her career and loved her patients and fellow health care workers.  

She and Tom enjoy traveling the US.  She has been to 47 states and 25 National Parks.  They had a wonderful visit to the Northwest where they saw the Chihuly Museum, San Juan Islands, Vancouver, Crater Lake and so much more.  They have visited New England where Acadia National Park was her favorite.    Last year, they drove around Florida and the Everglades, Key West and Key Biscayne.  Early in their marriage, Tom and Faye lived in Northern Virginia where they had the opportunity to see many sights in that area as well. 

When Faye retired, she and Tom went to Greece (her brother-in-law is Greek) and Italy for a month.  They visited Athens, Delphi and Meteora.  Then they rented a car and drove around the Peloponnese Peninsula (narrow roads on the edge off cliffs) where they had to wait for goats and sheep to cross the roads. Greece was fun to experience off the touristy way. 

Tom started playing duplicate bridge about 10 years ago and when he became involved in teaching bridge, he invited Faye to join as other spouses were also joining. She appreciates the game and has really enjoyed meeting everyone and the friendships she has gained.
