The Lake Providence Bridge Club (LPBC) was established in 2017 in Mt. Juliet, TN, which lies just east of Nashville. It provides the Del Webb at Lake Providence community the opportunity to enjoy, learn, and compete in the game of bridge at all skill levels. When the club began, most members had never played duplicate bridge, but the Director’s dedication, knowledge, and tutelage helped everyone gain the skills to play a respectable game. The club grew steadily until the pandemic forced us to online-only play for over a year. After we resumed playing in person, we continue to grow, and our membership now exceeds 80.
LPBC is a non-profit association, with membership open to all residents of Del Webb at Lake Providence. We hold weekly games on Sunday afternoon and often on Wednesday evening in our lovely Association clubhouse. We also host a fundraiser for the Alzheimer Association in June, quarterly dinner and duplicate games, and other holiday-related social events. We welcome non residents to join us, with the sponsorship of a member. Also, our Director, an ACBL-certified bridge instructor, teaches frequent lessons so that we continue to master the challenging game of bridge.
