The 2025 county pairs championship will be a two-session event on Sunday 9 March 2025 on RealBridge, starting at 11am and finishing by 6pm with a break between sessions. All primary or secondary Bedfordshire members who play in an affiliated club (Bedford, Leighton Buzzard, Milton Keynes, Olney) during February 2025 and score 50% or more will qualify to enter in partnership with any other player who has qualified. The entry fee is £5 per person.

All players will be eligible for Green Master Points, but prizes will be limited to primary Bedfordshire members, with the winners receiving the Geoffrey Clarke Memorial Trophy and the leading two pairs being invited to represent Bedfordshire in the Corwen Trophy on 31 May and 1 June 2025 on RealBridge.

Our objective is to promote the playing and teaching of Duplicate Bridge in Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes, and encourage participation in inter-club, inter-county and national competitions. We have over 400 members and 4 affiliated clubs. We run a number of competitions throughout the year, with the main focus being on teams events as local clubs offer pairs events on most days of the week. We organise:

• An annual Championship Pairs competition, with qualification through clubs. The leading pairs qualify to represent Bedfordshire in the national Corwen Trophy.
• An annual Nine-High Pairs competition for for Bedfordshire primary members with an NGS grade Two – Nine inclusive as registered on 1 January. The leading pairs qualify to represent Bedfordshire in the national Nine-High Corwen Trophy
• A Teams of Four League of 10 teams in 2 divisions, with the leading teams competing in a knockout to become Championship Team and qualify to represent Bedfordshire in the national Pachabo Cup.
• An annual Interclub Teams of Eight event, the qualifier for the national Garden Cities competition.
• Participation of Bedfordshire Teams of Eight in all three divisions of the Eastern Counties League (ECL) and in the national Tollemache Cup.
