From little things, big things grow |
The 21st Century Bridge Club is bringing to club players the chance to play on-line. I will be concentrating on teaching beginners to play and offering them supervised sessions, both daytime and evening. I will also be running regular Sunday daytime tournaments for club players, with cash prizes. There will also be a two session, once a month, evening tournament for club players, with cash prizes, on Tuesday evenings, starting in 2025. My intention is to increase sessions, both daytime and evening, for club players, as demand and interest increases.
I had offered some FREE come-and-try sessions from the 28th November. However, with only a few days to go, there had been no nominations for any of them. So, they have been cancelled, along with the follow-up sessions during the first week of opening from December 1st onwards.
The FIRST session on-line will be the Xmas Swiss pairs event on the 22nd December, with $600 prize money. It is a 6 round, 9 board event, which can be changed if need be, so needs at least 4-5 tables to run a decent movement. If there are not enough entries (4+ tables) by Saturday 21st, then the event will be cancelled and a full refund will be made into you MyABF account.
So, GET THOSE ENTRIES IN SOON!

Who can play on-line at 21st Century Bridge Club |
Any player who is an (active) member of the Australian Bridge Federation (ABF) can play in any session. You will need a partner for all of the sessions, who is also an (active) member of the ABF. The club can organise for a player to become a member of the ABF, or to re-activate their membership, with the payment of the required registration fee.
Payment for any session is made through the MyABF web-site, in advance of the session for YOU and PARTNER, using Bridge Credits or by credit card. YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER WITH MyABF TO USE THEIR WEB-SITE FOR THE FIRST TIME, details at My ABF - Dashboard. Session details, and for bookings, can be found on the MyABF web-site in their calendar FOR THE DATE OF OUR SESSION. All bookings must be made by ACTIVE members of the ABF.
Membership to the 21st Century Bridge Club is FREE to all active ABF members. If you are NOT an active ABF member, you will NEED to BECOME ONE TO PLAY in the 21st Century Bridge Club sessions. This club can organise for you to become an active ABF member BY PAYING THE RELEVANT FEES, approximately $35 from now and for 2025. This is the ABF capitation fee for 2025 plus the current South Australian Bridge Federation capitation fee. To become a member of the 21st Century Bridge Club, simply open the membership application form (on the Membership tab, in the Menu on the left-hand side of this page) and follow the instructions.
