Numbers increased steadily through the early 1990's, and 12th January saw a record (we believe) 17 and a half tables in play! This was played in a single section, which is unusual; as these numbers became more common (though not surpassed), WBC tended to split the room into two 8 or 9 table sections.
In the heyday of 2014-5-6 "Intermediates" (and possibly also in the early days of Try-Duplicate also) larger totals were reached, with 18 tables (13+5) for the AGM in February 2016, and 20 tables (12+8) at the 2015 Christmas party!
Now, with strong numbers at Tuesday Hallow the major contributor, we have had as many as 22.5 tables (14 and 8.5) on 26th/27th November 2024 - being the largest tally we have found so far!
