Wednesday 21st.October saw 28 pairs enjoying afternoon tea and bridge. This was Woodborough Bridge Club's first Charity Drive. 28 pairs took part and the scoring was very efficiently done using the Bridgemate devices. The winners were Dave Thompson/John Edwards, and June Evans/Eileen Embridge. The club was pleased to have raised £542 which will be split between the NSPCC in Nottingham, and Woodborough Bridge Club. At the start of the afternoon Mrs Jenny Farr, President of the Nottingham Branch of the NSPCC, gave a short talk about the work of the Society in this their 125th. Anniversary year.
We acknowledge the generous donations of raffle prizes from the following local businesses: Co-Operative Society, Cross Keys Public House in Epperstone, Old Green Dragon Public House in Oxton, and Timmerman's Garden Centre.
