Welcome to Richmond Bridge Club - England's largest affiliated club
WELCOME TO RICHMOND BRIDGE CLUB
WELCOME TO RICHMOND BRIDGE CLUB

Welcome to Richmond Bridge Club, the most popular and successful EBU affiliated club in the country!  A friendly and progressive club, we are housed in the old Bowling Club Pavilion in Cambridge Park, nestled between Richmond & Twickenham.  Our Clubhouse has multiple playing rooms, teaching facilities and a fully licensed bar.

We offer a range of duplicate bridge sessions every day of the week for players of all abilities - our full schedule of regular events may be found here.

Our Academy offers lessons for new players, beginners and improvers, and seminars for more experienced players. For more detail about the different sessions for novices and improvers, please click here.

The club is proud to announce a special day with Zia Mahmood on Saturday April 5th, starting at 11am.  Zia's focus will be a celebration of the fun of the game, combining stories from his long international bridge career, interactive discussion, strategic play and engaging hands. The cost for the event will be £50 (£60 visitors), including a ploughman's lunch.

Participants' names will be entered in a Lucky Draw to win a free game with Zia at a future date.

To sign up, please register by clicking here.

Come and Join us for Assisted Duplicate

Do you fancy playing in one of our Gentle Sessions, but aren't quite sure how they run?  If so, our Assisted Duplicate sessions are ideal for you!

Assisted Duplicate sessions are run along the same lines as Gentle Sessions - gently competitive with a generous 8 minutes per board.  You learn how to use a Bridgemate, which table you move to for the next round, and if/when you should call the Director.  Not only all this, but Lyn & Glen are also on-hand to answer any queries you may have.

These sessions are ideal both for improvers who have been attending Supervised Play, and students who have recently completed the Beginners Course.

These will be run on Tuesday mornings (10am start), usually by Lyn & Glen - please see the Calendar for full details.  There is no need to book and you don't need a partner - just come along and have fun!

This is in addition to the Learning Duplicate run as part of the Monday Evening Workshop (by Richard) and the Wednesday Evening Supervised Play (with Margaret).

'WELL, I DO DECLARE' - Thursday 27th Mar

This Thursday, Tim Chanter will continue reviewing three boards from Declarer's perspective via Zoom and screenshare.  Please click here in advance to review the quiz for the session.

If you wish to attend, simply click this Zoom link from 10.20 for a 10.30 kick off (no pre booking is required).  https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86037429431

If you cannot make it, but wish to be copied in on the recording and the commentaries then please let Tim know to add you to the distribution list.

The session will take about 1 hour and costs £5.  There will be a follow up of answers to the quiz.

Monthly Wednesday Evening Teams

Wednesday evening @ 19.00, April 9th, NB Earlier Start Time the club will organise its next monthly teams event.

These are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month (ie the following one will be May 14th).

A team is made up of 4 players playing together as 2 pairs. There are some differences to the scoring method, and therefore the best tactics - but if you are unfamiliar with the format don't worry, just play your usual game !

There is no obligation to play every month. Normal table money of £7 will apply for members, £10 for visitors.

The details of how things are organised on the night will depend on the number of teams taking part.

There is free street parking (so do not use the bowls club car park) and the bar will be open throughout.

I want to encourage less experienced players to have a go

so don't just ignore this because you're not sure what's involved !

For the moment my focus is on gathering names and  helping arrange everyone into teams of four

To register an interest - as an individual, a pair, or a full team - please click HERE

Our next Saturday Supper is at 18:00 on Saturday, 3rd May.

Catering arrangements for both events are still be confirmed

We will have (a) a duplicate for our more experienced members, and

(b) a separate supervised session for students.
