In the Preston Blue Pointed Teams on 10th January, winners were Peter Richmond, Roger Allison, Glen Oliver and Andrew Holborn on 142 VPs out of 200. Manchester GP Swiss Pairs at Altrincham 4thMarch2017 |
There was a full house at Altrincham on Saturday 4th March where fifty one pairs competed in the Swiss Pairs. Congratulations to the joint winners Jeff Smith/Alan Nelson and Marianne Farr/John Morrell who were ahead of Kath Nelson/Jeff Morris in third place. Sue Woodcock and Stuart Clarke finished 7th. The Ascenders Prize was won by Barrie and Julia Newall. Full results to follow.

Mersyside GP Swiss Teams at Deva 5th March 2017 |
Congrats to Andrew Petrie who was in the winning team with Andrew Woodcock, Catherine Draper and Nicola Smith at the Merseyside GP Teams at Deva, There were 15 teams. Bill/Liz Wattleworth, Anthony Butler and Glen Oliver finished 6th.

Martin Braid Pivot teams |
Jackie Pye, Jeff Smith playing with John Holland and Alan Mould won the Martin Braid Pivot teams charity event at held at Manchester Bridge Club on Saturday 2nd 2017. There were 16 teams at the event with around £500 raised for the British Heart Foundation charity, Full results on the Manchester Bridge Club website. Kath Nelson and Alan Mould spoke of their fond memories of Martin Braid and thanks were given to Sue Braid for her generous support for this event.

Division 1 was won by Preston with runners up Bolton, Division 2 by Bolton B with Lytham A second, Division 3 by Lytham B with Clifton A second and Division D by Bolton D with Chorley B second.
