Felixstowe Bridge Club |
|
Welcome to the home page of Felixstowe Bridge Club. We are a small, friendly club that normally meets on Tuesday afternoons at the Suffolk & Felixstowe Bowls Club. The club is situated between Platters Road and St Edmunds Road. Tea / coffee and biscuits are available. Our usual host system is not in operation for the time being but Tony Shearman has offered to look in on Tuesdays and make up the numbers if necessary and so a partner should be guaranteed. We use Bridgemates for the scoring and normally use pre-prepared boards. Please contact the Club Secretary (07527 471116) or Director (01473 727537) in advance if you have any questions.
Do come along and join us. You will be made very welcome.
Future important dates
Our Annual General Meeting this year will be held on Tuesday December 10th in the club at 1.30pm.
Christmas lunch will be on Tuesday December 17th.

Host List and Directors Rota |
At the moment, numbers are insufficient to maintain a host system and so arriving without a pre-arranged partner is at your own risk! Tony has very kindly offered to come as "spare" so you should get a game

Best Behaviour at Bridge. |
Bridge is an extremely enjoyable game. Courteous behaviour is an exceptionally important part of that enjoyment. This guide serves as a brief reminder of how to behave at the bridge table. We are sure that all players naturally follow this code of conduct, but there are times when concentration and pressure can take their toll and it is for these situations that we issue this as a reminder.
♥ Greet others in a friendly manner prior to start of play on each round.
♥ Be a good ‘host’ or ‘guest’ at the table.
♥ Make your convention card readily available to your opponents and fill it out completely.
♥ Make bridge enjoyable for yourself, partner and opponents.
♥ Give credit when opponents make a good bid or play.
♥ Enjoy the company as well as the game.
Remember that it is rude to criticise your partner or opponents in public, to be less than polite at the table, to gloat over good results or object to a call for the tournament director or to dispute a director’s ruling.
