Membership of the club for the duration of your degree is £20 (or £15 for 1 year). Members are exempt from table fee for the first academic year of their membership. Table money for members from second year onwards is £2 per session, but is capped at a maximum of £6 per year. Visitors pay £4 per session. Invoices will be sent out at the end of Lent term. From academic year 2024/25, CUBC is starting to subsidise participation in eligible EBU competitions and County-level competitions for members. Cover will be available for registration and travel, subject to conditions. Full subsidy policy

CUBC is hosting the Surrey County Simultaneous Pairs during the last week of Michaelmas Term (Thursday 05/12/2024). The same boards will be played across England and scores compared nationally. The pair that scores highest across the country will be rewarded £100 from EBED.

Because we need to manually set the hands, we will have an earlier session. The venue will be open from 18.30 and we will close entries from 19.00. We will then assign pair numbers so that each player will manually set the hands they will sit out for. Players arriving late will only be able to play casually and will not be involved in the scoring. Thank you for your cooperation.

We are re-starting the President's Teams events on Saturday 15 March 2025 where current members will be able to meet CUBC alumni, including many national and international-level players. More details here
