CREWKERNE BRIDGE CLUB |
 |
Welcome to Crewkerne Bridge Club. Our club night is Monday and we meet in Merriott Village Hall. There is parking at the rear of the hall. We are a friendly club and have members of all standards from improvers upwards. We take it in turns to be host so that players without a partner are always guaranteed a game. We like to start at 7pm prompt so arrival before 6.50pm would be appreciated so that the Director can sort out the number of tables and joining up of spare players.

SOMERSET CONTRACT BRIDGE ASSOCIATION - UPCOMING COMPETITIONS |
SCBA would like to encourage you to try something new in 2025 and to get involved in Bridge away from your local clubs.. There is something for everyone - not just those who are hunting masterpoints! During the coming months they are running a number of events - summarised below. All of the events are held at Woolavington village hall, starting at 1.00pm, pausing for tea at around 4.30pm and normally finish by 7.00pm
March 23rd
Club Teams of Eight. The winning team from this event qualifies to represent Somerset in the Garden Cities event. Forming a team of eight can be difficult for clubs. Clubs are allowed to form a single team from one or more clubs to overcome this problem. Entry forms are here
April 27th
Their final event of the competition year also consists of two parallel events. The first is the Mixed Pairs event, and the second is a 9 High event. Entry forms for the Mixed Pairs are here, and entry forms for the 9 High event are here

Last year the Clevedon & Portishead and Kingston Seymour bridge clubs collaborated to run a Swiss Pairs event with the surplus raised being donated to charity.
The event ran smoothly and was enjoyed by all who played in it, so they are holding another Swiss Pairs event this year.
They would welcome entries from other clubs, particularly in the Somerset area,
Cost is £6 per head with a tea being available at £10 per head.
Play starts at 1pm continuing no later than 7pm
Details of the event can be found on both the Kingston Seymour and the Cleveland and Portishead bridge club websites
