| CREWKERNE BRIDGE CLUB |

Welcome to Crewkerne Bridge Club. Our club night is Monday and we meet in Merriott Village Hall. There is parking at the rear of the hall. We are a friendly club and have members of all standards from improvers upwards. We take it in turns to be host so that players without a partner are always guaranteed a game. We like to start at 7pm prompt so arrival before 6.50pm would be appreciated so that the Director can sort out the number of tables and joining up of spare players.

| SUMMER SOCIAL AT HASELBURY MILL 12th AUGUST 2024 |
We are holding our Summer Social at the Tithe Barn at Haselbury Mill (TA18 7NY)
Arrival at 6.15 for a prompt 6.45 sit-down please for our 2-course dinner.
To be followed by a "fun" session of Bridge - no points, just prizes.
Please note: There will be no Bridge at Merriott Village Hall on August 12th

| HALL CLOSURE 19th AND 26th AUGUST |
The Village Hall will be closed for essential repairs on Mondays 19th and 26th of August
Arrangements to offer Bridge on these two evenings for those interested is in progress........
Monday 19th will be an online session on BBO.
The session on Monday 26th is being hosted by Julia and Jamie at their house.

In order to try to encourage new players to attend there will be a "9-high" event of 18-20 boards held on the Friday evening.

| EBU FESTIVAL OF BRIDGE |
All bridge communities are invited to take part in Bridge - It's a Big Deal!
The goal of the EBU in partnership with Cancer Research UK is to raise £60,000 for the charity and raise awareness of the game of Bridge.
During the week beginning September 9th 2024 clubs, counties and players will join together to put on events which in addition to being great fun for players will raise the profile of the game of bridge in the community and demonstrate that bridge can play a part in raising funds for one of the UK's most important charities.
Your event can be anything from a bridge club open day to a full blown bridge marathon - the important thing is that our clubs and counties support 'Bridge- It's a Big Deal!' (BIABD) by joining in to raise awareness of bridge and at the same time supporting our partner Cancer Research UK.
