The results (with the correct hands) are on the website now.
The scores that matter are purely how your head to head with the other team playing the same hand turns out. As an example, the winning team was #7. They played team #4 on board 1. One result was 2H-1 scoring -50; the other 3S= scoring +140. Aggregate the scores: -50+140 = +90, look this up in a points to IMP table (Google International Match Points) and you will see that this scores 3 IMPs.

| Bridge Seminars |
Strettons Bridge Club will be running bridge seminars on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month starting in September, plus an initial seminar on 16th July.
Venue and time: All Stretton VH at 09.30 until noon (entry via side door only).
Cost for each session: £2 for members and £4 for visitors.
Topics: Reverses (16th July), Checkback Stayman (3rd Sept), Cue Bids and Splinters (17th Sept), Doubles (1st Oct), Signals and Discards (15th Oct), 4441 Hands (5th Nov), Pre-empts (19th Nov), 4th Suit Forcing (3rd Dec).
Seminar description: short discussion, plus Bid and Play hands. Document to be emailed out to attendees.

| Tuition for Beginners |
Dom Wilson is ready to run tuition sessions for Beginners at any time, depending on demand (minimum of 4). If you are interested in joining these sessions, please e-mail me (dwbridge@hotmail.co.uk) so I can firm up mutually convenient arrangements. The tuition is free. There may be a small charge (£2-3) to cover venue costs (if any). I have a couple of names on my list already, so a couple more would be enough for a group - just let me know.

| THE CLUB |
You are very welcome at our club!
The STRETTONS BRIDGE CLUB meets every Thursday at 1.00 in All Stretton Village Hall for a relaxed, enjoyable and informal session of duplicate bridge. We welcome players of all levels, including beginners, so long as you know the basics (and if you don't but would like to, see "Learning and Improving"). Feel free to bring crib notes or ask Dom or Martin for advice at any stage during the bidding or play. No need to bring a partner - we have a host system.

| South Shropshire Bridge Teams League 2024/25 |
On Thursday 27 March the finals of the SSBTL competition were held at The Strettons Bridge Club. Wrekin BC managed a victory over the strong Ludlow U3A team (15/5) in the Consolation Final. In the Grand Final the SBC North team struggled against a vigorous SBC South team eventually emerging exhausted clutching a 15/5 victory. The Strettons BC North team (Martin Church, Jeff Jones, Tony Poole, Dom Wilson) are this years Champions!
