National Handicap Pairs - 8th September 2024 |
We are holding a heat of the National Handicap Pairs Championship at 1.00 pm on 8th September 2024 which will be played on RealBridge. The National Handicap Pairs Championship is a new event, started in 2021, which takes place as heats. Uniquely among national EBU events the results are based on scores handicapped by NGS grade, so anyone has the opportunity to do well on the day, regardless of their experience level. Thank you Penny |
After twenty four years holding various positions as a county committee member in addition to being the Membership Secretary Penny Riley is stepping down for a well earned rest. In addition to sitting on the committee Penny has been involved in organising bridge at County, Club and formerly School level. This often involved duplimating huge numbers of boards over the years and her contribution has been invaluable in every aspect of organising events for the county. In 2012 the EBU recognised her already long service to the game with a Dimmie Fleming award and in the twelve years since then she has continued to contribute, mostly behind the scenes. The county committee feel that the significant influence she has had is worth further recognition and have appointed her as a Vice President of Cambs and Hunts Contract Bridge Association, an honorary position only formerly held by Chris Larlham, Dave Harrison, Chis Jagger and Tony Oram. We wish her well in her retirement from the committee and hope to see her at the bridge tables for many years to come.
Roger Courtney, Chair
