Feedback from "A Nod to Burns" |

♠ ♥ “A Nod to Burns” ♦ ♣
44 players enjoyed one of the bridge club social events “A Nod to Burns” which took place on the Wednesday 21st Jan 2026.
A delicious Scottish themed lunch was provided by the RRC, Christine provided a Scottish themed quiz including anagrams, the winning team Don Taylor and Andy Wilson.
Three club members Euan Duff, Andy Wilson & Brian Algar contributed poetry to toast the man himself Rabbie Burns. Brian’s contribution cleverly had a bridge theme.
Some have points and canna bid
Some that bid but shouldna
But we have points and we can bid
Sae bid a slam and be thankit
Sorry Rabbie
Scattered throughout the players were nods of Tartan with Euan in his Highland Dress of McDuff tartan.
The afternoon ended in our traditional way, with some good old bridge.
