LEARN TO PLAY BRIDGE!
We are one of the friendliest places to learn to play bridge and, whether you are on your own or come along with friends, we will make you feel very welcome. We had two courses:
Evening course started Tuesday 27th September 7.30 pm - 9.30 pm
(FULLY BOOKED)
Daytime course started Friday 30th September 10.00 am - 12 noon
(A FEW SPACES AVAILABLE)
Don't worry if you miss the start date! We will run some short sessions to help get you up to speed and ready to join the daytime course! But if you're uncertain whether bridge is for you, then we're also happy for you to come along to your first lesson free!
Why are we the friendliest place to learn to play bridge?
Quite simply we have the most competent and friendly teachers and our philosophy is to 'make bridge social and fun'! We are also very honest about how long it takes to become a bridge player, something not shared by others. So if you'd like to know more then please give Rob or Tony, a call or drop them an email.

Bridge is a Social Game!
FRENCH & BRIDGE NIGHT
104 people joined our third social bridge event, a French themed Bridge Night on Wednesday 14th September held in the Colston Hall at the GX Memorial Centre.
An evening of social chicago bridge with a two course meal of Beef Bourguignon or Chicken Chasseur with French Apple Tart, Fruit Salad or Cheese and Biscuits went down particularly well, according to the many emails we received! Some remarked it was the best yet!
Our next social bridge theme event is a 'Christmas Cheer' buffet on Friday 9th December 2016 and invitations will go out shortly so please check your emails! More information is available on this and future theme evenings on the 'Social Events' page shown on the menu bar to the left.

MONDAY EVENING AND THURSDAY MORNING
We run weekly supervised play sessions on a Monday evening and Thursday morning in the Garden Room at the Gerrards Cross Memorial Centre.. These are very friendly sessions suitable for less experienced players or those who enjoy a more relaxed pace of play.

Teaching Staff Update!
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Val Bannister to our teaching team. Both Val and Sue Blythe, currently one of our resident support teachers were recently confirmed as EBU Accredited Teachers having completed their EBU training course and are now Associate Members of the English Bridge Union Teachers Association.
Both Sue and Val will be involved in our new beginner and improver courses. They will also oversee some of our weekly daytime and evening beginner and improver practice play sessions. Both are professional teachers working at local schools and more information is available if you click on their pictures on the lefthand column!
These changes will allow Carol Aitken to fully manage our support programmes, our beginner and improver practice play sessions and to help develop our programme of social bridge activities. We wish everyone success in their new roles.

County Student and Graduate League Winners
Each year the Berks and Bucks county bridge association run leagues for students, from numerous bridge schools, who have completed one year of study (Student League) and those who have completed two years of study within the last two years (Graduate League). Matches are played between October and April. Yet again both leagues have been won by students from The Bridge School at Gerrards Cross who received their trophies at a recent presentation evening.
Student League winners were Not Vulnerables that included Mark Taylor, David King, Hilary Rouse, Caroline Hunt (all pictured) and Andy Graham and Val Karruck.
Graduate League winners were team DOMPF that included Jan Przybys, Pamela King, Jane Morris and Peter Duncan.
As part of the presentation evening, attendees also played for the BridgePlus Trophy, kindly donated by Elena Jeronimidis, and again this was won by two of our past students, Anne Byles and Barbara Gibbs.
Well done to everyone who took part and thank you for successfully representing The Bridge School at Gerrards Cross.
