Our nominated charity for 2026 is Rio Community Centre in Newport. A local charity in Newport provide support and activities for the local Community. 

We will be supporting them through our Charity Pairs event and Raffle to be held in Dundee on 2nd May 2026. Further details will be provided shortly.

Tickets and raffle tickets have been distributed to clubs and sold locally.

Raffle tickets can be bought on the day.

We need to know the number of attendees to allow us to organise the catering, so charity pairs tickets must be bought in advance from your club.

Raffle Prize donations will be greatly appreciated.

The 35th Central District Congress will take place from 14th to 16th August 2026 at the Park Hotel in Montrose. You can see full details of the Congress by clicking on the Heading to download the Congress Brochure. 

If you wish to Register for the Congress, please complete the Registration Form below for the members of your pair or team.

Your entry and accommodation requests will only be acknowledged and confirmed once the payment of your Bridge Fees for the event has been received into the Central District Bank Account, as detailed in the Congress Brochure. Congratulations to Claire Hargan and Michael Heubeck for winning this years Central District Pairs Event, recently held in Dundee on the 14th February 2026. 

The Runners-Up were Alison Carmichael and Ron Moodie.

After the conclusion of the Russell French Tournament in Dundee, the following teams have qualified to represent their clubs and the Central District at the inaugural Club Teams Championship to be held at the Clyde Bridge Centre on Sunday 19th April 2026.

As noted in the conditions of qualifying, substitutes are allowed for the event in Glasgow, but the players in a team must have a rank no greater than the level the team qualified at.  

Congratulations to Alan Kennedy, Matthew Robb, Bob Anderson and Juliet Vivers for winning this years Russell French Trophy at the recent event held in Dundee on the 17th January 2026. 

The Runners-Up were Ross and Sheila Herd, Edan Gardner and Michael Heubeck.

Congratulations to Matthew Robb, Joan Forsyth, Sheila Blair and Howard Greenwell for winning this year's Robertson Salver teams event, that was held in Dundee on 11th October 2025.

Congratulations to Steve Raine and Abi Milne, for winning this year's Pairs event at the Central District Congress in Montrose

The winners of the Congress Teams event at Montrose were Steve Raine, Jenny Middleton, Sam Punch and Abi Milne.   

25 Teams participated in the Montrose Pre-Congress Teams event on the Friday Afternoon. The Winners, all from the Central District were Damien Murray, Matthew Robb, Christine Walker, and Edan Gardner.  

The Central District is very thankful to all of the players at this year's Montrose congress who managed to donate a further £202.25p to our collection for this year's charity - Dundee Therapy Garden. 

Congratulations to our winning pairs: E/W - Jack and Marc Shearer. N/S - Mark Lincoln and Richard Benstead, who are pictured with Charity Convenor, Alan Kennedy. The nett amount raised will be show here when the final sums are complete.
