Swiss Pairs is a popular and fair format because you play against pairs with a similar success rate to you and you don’t face many pairs much stronger than you or indeed much weaker. It gives every pair a good chance of some good results.

SUPERVISED PLAY SESSION IN CLUB: Saturday mornings from 19th October |
♠ ♥ ♦ Supervised Play Saturday mornings for new players. ♠ ♥ ♦
10am till 12 noon
Because the supervised play sessions on Wednesdays have now been replaced by lessons we are putting on a new supervised play session on Saturday mornings from 19th October.
You do not need a partner. There will be experienced players on hand to answer questions and to assist you. This will be an opportunity to practise and consolidate the theory you have learned so far in a very relaxed playing session. You can ask for as much help as you need.
The only way to get to grips with this game is to play …and play …and play .
Tea and coffee will be served during the session.
Cost £5 charged to your KBC members account .
If you need more information phone Val Ross-Gilbertson on 07902901985

KBC/KCC Parking |
The Cricket Club owns the property and we lease our part of the building and share the use of the carpark. Now sessions are becoming busier we do need to remember the parking rules and ensure that we park with due consideration for other users. Usually the parking arrangements for KBC members should be as follows
- DO NOT park on the grass
- First arrivals to park up to the fence line adjacent to the building works
- The next row (and subsequent rows) must be parked hard up to the first row. Do not leave space for vehicle movements. It is not necessary as we all leave at the same time .
- DO NOT park against the walls of the Cricket club
- Emergency vehicle access to our front door should be maintained at all time. Do not park in such a way as to obstruct this.
- Leave access clear to the parking spaces for those with disabilities.
Occasionally there may be a need for a different parking arrangement and if that is the case someone will be there to direct you.
Thank you for your compliance.
