Handing over the travellers after last Thursday's (9th) session didn't go perfectly. Anne said "there you are" but I left them on the table.
Come Friday morning they were of course nowhere to be found, not in the boards, the box or the folder. A call to Anne elicited she hadn't taken them – they must still be at Kesgrave. I called to check no-one was in the hall and departed to find them.
But someone was in the hall, a Boccia session was in full swing. They were very accommodating and I searched the bidding-box box in the store-room. Nothing. I prevailed again on the Boccia players' good nature to access the under-stage cupboards. Again nothing. But the caretaker who had the keys for the storage-area remembered throwing away the results slips I described. "I put the unused ones back in the box, I put the used ones in the bin". You can see his point.
The bin outside our playing room had been collected. He unlocked the padlocks on the big bins outside and we rooted for the 'bag of bags'. We found it! And a bag with coffee cups and travellers! A little damp and a little stained, but quite legible. I returned home and laid them in the sun to crisp up.
It only remained to get the cat off them and enter the scores. Well done Ingrid and Richard, winners for the second week running. Surely time for them to try the main hall don't you think?

Chris Chambers does Scoring and Tactics
Normal play session with Mike Bone
IMPs! with Anne Edwards. Put into practice tips from Scoring and Tactics. The club plays this type of scoring a couple of times per year (fifth Thursday). Unlike matchpointed pairs where only the rank of your score is important, in IMPs (and teams play) size is important.
