Mixed Pivot Teams

Friday 14 March
1pm for a 1.15pm start

This is a mixed pivot teams of four event so everyone plays a few boards with their other three team members.  Each team must contain at least one man and one woman.

It will be a sociable and enjoyable afternoon and we hope as many as possible will make up teams.

Swiss Pairs

Friday 7th March
 

Our next Swiss Pairs event will be on Friday 7th March please be seated for 1pm.

As always, this event is open to all members of the club who are used to playing in standard duplicate sessions.  The first round is random but thereafter, you will be playing members of a similar standard to yourself so it's a great event to include everyone!

The Swiss Pairs events can run on a little longer than a duplicate pairs session so please ensure you allow plenty of time.  Numbers for the event are critical so if you sign up but are subsequently unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible.

We are also looking for volunteers to be a 'standby' pair in case of last minute, unforeseen problems.  Please let us know if you can help (incentives apply! 😁)

We are a welcoming and friendly bridge club catering for players of all standards.  We run six pairs sessions per week. Master points are awarded.  We also have classes for beginners and intermediates, and occasional instruction on specific topics.

For the more competitive players we have three teams in the Yorkshire Sunday League.   Many of our players also group together to make teams of four that play in the Harrogate and District Bridge League against more local opposition.

Harrogate Bridge Club is located in the centre of this beautiful spa town.  The club has its own private licensed premises and is well established with over 250 members. 

Visiting pairs are always made welcome.

We are running 3 teams of 4 pairs in the Yorkshire League this season, playing against other Yorkshire teams, with home and away fixtures.  The matches are played on a Sunday afternoon against players of roughly the same standard.  There are 7 divisions.

The remaining matches for this season are: 2nd March and 16th March.

Please be tolerant of players who don’t get all the updated procedures exactly right straight away – it’s meant to be an exercise in informing your opponents of your methods, not an excuse for trying to get one over on them!
