Congratulations to Our Western Region Stars! 🌟

A huge congratulations to Joan Kenny and Louise Mitchell who proudly represented Ireland in the Lady Milne Trophy (Women's Home International Championship), hosted this year in Bristol, England.

The Irish team delivered a strong performance, finishing ahead of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Well done to all involved!

The CBAI National Teams Finals took place– Portlaoise – Sat and Sun 22nd & 23rd March.

Our Master team put up a terrific performance, finishing in 2nd place in the Kelburne Cup Trophy. A big congratulations to Joan Kenny, Paul Scannell, Gay Keaveney, Enda Glynn and  David Walsh

Our Inter B  (Tierney Cup) also performed very well, finishing in 5th place. Well done to Carmel Murphy, Tony Faherty, Trina Byrne and Frannie Byrne

A big congratulations to Don Coen, President of the Western region for hosting a super event with 25 tables in the Lady Gregory Hotel Gort., Sunday afternoon, 9th March 2025 

A special thank you to the chief organiser of the event Fiona Place who rounded up the troops in a very tight deadline.

The event raised €400 which will go to  Gort Cancer Care West.

Welcome to the website of the Western Region of the Contract Bridge Association of Ireland.
The CBAI is the national body that administers the game of contract bridge across the 26 counties of Ireland.
This national association is made up of various regional branches including the Western Region which administers the game in County Galway.

Each region is run by a committee comprised of representatives of the affiliated clubs. The region's officers (President, Secretary, Treasurer, etc,) are elected at the AGM which is traditionally held in December. The position of President rotates equally between the various clubs of the region.
