Sad News |
Sheila Brent, a Friday player, passed away peacefully in her sleep on 19 Nov after a short illness. She was a nurse in her working life and I spent several bridge holidays with her, and her partner, Peter Peterson, who also died a couple of months ago, and, more recently, with Margaret Wigand. She was a canny player 'in her own style!' and said she didn't care if she was at the top (often) or the bottom as she thought middle was for wimps!
RIP Sheila, you will be missed.

Gentle Duplicate Sessions |
We are pleased to announce that the new Gentle Duplicate session will begin at 14.00 for a prompt start at 14.15 each Tuesday.
The first session was held on Tuesday 6th August with 7 tables and reports that all enjoyed.
These sessions will be EBU sessions with NGS and Master Points awarded, as such, no advice can be given during the hands but discussion is encouraged after the hand.
As a rough guide, players with NGS 9 or below should attend these sessions.
These sessions will be for 18 boards (between 16 and 20 boards depending on the number of tables).
We are aiming to have a host for each session, please check the calendar to see if there is a host or not.
