Our winner Sarah Sleven is flanked by runner-up Gabby Barker and third placed Derek Banks. They are all learning on courses within our teaching programme and were photographed before this week's thriving DupliCake session. 

The event was attended by twenty-one learners who each played the session with an expert partner drawn by lot at the start of play, making a 10.5 table event. Sarah is pictured holding the Lord Newton Trophy, most kindly donated by our erstwhile proprietor, Richard Newton. Our many thanks go to him for his continued generosity, to Andy Osborn who TDed, Liz Cheveley who acted as general factotum and to all helpers and attendees who made the event such a success.

2025 SCCBA Teams of Eight

aka EBU Garden Cities Trophy Heat

Five SCCBA clubs played in this year's Inter-Club Teams of Eight at Patcham Community Centre on 29th March in their attempts to qualify.

Congratulations to the winners who were the Avenue Bridge Club - Stephen Kennedy & Oliver Powell, Andy Ryder & Mike Allen, Gunnar Hallberg & Sally Clark, Matthew Read & David Dickson.  The runners-up were Horsham.

Congratulations go to Peter Clinch and Julian MItchell who came first with a cracking 66.85% in the Southeast regional final of the National Pairs. We also wish them the very best of luck in the final. Congratulations also go to David Park partnering Gerry Stanford for winning the Sussex Pairs
