The 21st Century Bridge Club is bringing to club players the chance to play on-line. I am currently offering four regular sessions per week, two club duplicates, one on Monday afternoons and another on Wednesday mornings, as well as two "improver" duplicates for Novice (Thursday afternoon) and Intermediate players (Friday afternoon), with lectures and recommended bidding.

The club plans to introduce beginner's classes, with supervised play, as well as an evening duplicate session for club players, in 2025.

Any player who is an (active) member of the Australian Bridge Federation (ABF) can play in any session. You will need a partner for all of the sessions, who is also an (active) member of the  ABF. The club can organise for a player to become a member of the ABF, or to re-activate their membership, with the payment of the required registration fee. 

Payment for any session is made through the MyABF web-site, in advance of the session for YOU and PARTNER, using Bridge Credits or by credit card. YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER WITH MyABF TO USE THEIR WEB-SITE FOR THE FIRST TIME, details at  My ABF - Dashboard.  Session details, and for bookings, can be found on the MyABF web-site in their calendar FOR THE DATE OF OUR SESSION. All bookings must be made by ACTIVE  members of the ABF.  

Membership to the 21st Century Bridge Club is FREE to all active ABF members. If you are NOT  an active ABF member, you will NEED to BECOME ONE, TO PLAY in the 21st Century Bridge Club sessions. This club can organise for you to become an active ABF member BY PAYING THE RELEVANT FEES, currently $9 for the remainder of 2024 (from October 1st) and approximately $35 for 2025. This is the ABF capitation fee for 2025 plus the current South Australian Bridge Federation capitation fee. To become a member of the 21st Century Bridge Club, simply open the membership application form (on the Membership tab, in the Menu on the left-hand side of this page) and follow the instructions.  

Novice duplicate Thursdays 1.30pm - 4pm.  Pre-game lectures in December "Opening the bidding with 1NT and responding". Notes, recommended bidding, $10/player - you must have a partner.

Intermediate duplicate Fridays 1.30pm - 4pm. Pre-game lectures in December "Opener's rebids with good hands" - the barrier principle, reverses and jump shifts, and responding. Notes, recommended bidding, $10/player - you must have a partner.

Xmas Swiss pairs Sunday, December 22nd 10am to 4.45pm. One Day Swiss pairs with team scoring (Imps and Victory points), 6 rounds of 9 boards, prizes for 1st $300/pair, 2nd $200/pair, 3rd $100/pair paid into your MyABF bridge credits account. Entry fee $30/player, enter via MyABF. 

Phil Gue is off to Buenos Aries as NON PLAYING CAPTAIN of the AUSTRALIAN SENIOR'S TEAM for the World Team's Championships from October 21st to November 3rd. He will be writing a DAILY BLOG which will be published in the NEWS section of this web-site's menu.

HOWEVER, there are FREE-TO-TRY sessions from Sunday, 24th November to Friday 29th November. You can use these sessions to practice logging in to Realbridge and using their excellent playing platform. All those sessions listed in the last week of November are free to play (Check Calendar from the menu on the left of this front/home page). However, you will need to book on the MyABF web-site (with zero entry fee). If you have any difficulty in booking, please contact the club by email.  Numbers for each session will be limited to 40 pairs, so book in early.
